2. THE CONFERENCE OF OLD STUDENTS AND ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS

On the 12th of December 2017, convocation of all old students and alumni associations of secondary schools was called and the convocation gave birth to the Conference of Old Students and Alumni Associations with members drawn from top echelon of Nigerian state. It is indeed gratifying that members are made up of those who have attained lofty heights in their various vocations locally and internationally especially in education. Essentially the Conference forms the think-tank of the NGO aiming at setting standards and implementing projects that lift our education to global levels. With its long history of public investment in formal Education, Western Nigeria since free education in 1955 has produced millions of school leavers. The Mass of Old Students/Alumni therefore clearly and easily qualifies as the foremost target stake-holder in mobilizing resources for the well-being of our Educational institutions.

We have therefore set out plans to restructure our educational system by being strong player in the following areas:

To ensure the realisation of the objectives of the Conference of Old Students/Alumni Associations of Western Nigeria- “Schools of the Future Now!”, an interim executive Council was constituted at both Regional and State levels. The inauguration took place on Thursday, 4th January 2018, at the Regional Head Office of the NGO at 3, Golf Resort Drive, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, Ogun State. A total of twenty-two executives were inaugurated as follows: one Patron, 6 Regional Executives, 13 Ogun State Executives and 8 Senatorial districts’ Executives.
