About Us
🌱 The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Educational Initiative for Development in Western Nigeria emerged from the concern of a very small group of people 👥 for the myriads of problems of our society 🏙️ traceable to the decadent state of formal education 📚 and its strategic, in fact, radical response 🔄 to the same.
🎓 The NGO was registered with the aim of exploiting maximally potentials of the Educational Sector for socio-economic development in Nigeria 🇳🇬. Our original concepts are of universal application 🌍, transcending local, state and other boundaries 🛤️. Sectionalism is neither intended 🚫 nor in our spirit ✊. However, the term Western Nigeria was added to the NGO’s name by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) 🏢 in its wisdom 🧠 on the assumption that the area of influence and coverage of the NGO will be too large 📈.

Identification and optimal exploitation of private and Non-governmental resources to partner Government in the quest for a truly legacy-class Education Sector..
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To identify and promote the Educational Sector as a foundation for manpower and socio-economic development.
- To identify challenges to optimal performance of the Educational Sector.
- To mobilize public (especially old student/alumni) interest and resources to address these challenges.
- To develop and promote programmes that encourage mass participation in the development of the Educational Sector.
- To keep human resources of the Educational Sector - staff and students - in focus as primary target of attention and intervention.
We are basically set up under the following guidelines:
- Anyone who has ever attended any school should “Do Something!” for his Alma Mater.
- With a history of free education spanning half a century, virtually all adults are obligated to “Do Something!”
- The little from everybody amounts to a huge resource base.
- Old Students/Alumni interest to be re-orientated away from being an elitist pastime into a mass-movement for the ordinary grass-root citizen to participate.
- Variety of payment platforms to be made available for easy payment by the diverse cross-section of citizens from Local to the Diaspora.
- While Old Students/Alumni Association membership is encouraged; it is not required to “Do Something!” for the Alma Mater.
- The culture of life-long bonding of old students to their alma mater is to be built – a cradle – to – grave relationship of mutual commitment.
